Great Canadian Casino Vancouver, from Surrey

Despite the name, this casino is not in Vancouver. Its address is 2080 United Boulevard, Coquitlam. From Surrey City Centre it is 4.1 km. That makes it number 1 of the nine Metro Vancouver casinos on this guide by that measure. Whalley is the closest Surrey town centre at 4 km, with Guildford at 4.9 km.

Keep in mind these are straight lines on a map, not road distances. Surrey's own room is Elements, at 17755 60 Ave in Cloverdale. For anyone in Whalley or Guildford, Great Canadian is actually nearer than Elements. From Cloverdale the picture flips: Great Canadian is 16 km away, and from South Surrey it is 20.6 km.

Petroglyph Development Group, which belongs to Snuneymuxw First Nation, has owned and run the casino since May 5, 2026. A limited licence lets it keep using the Great Canadian name. Back in 2001 it opened as Casino Coquitlam. Later it became Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, and the current name arrived in December 2023.

Slots come to more than 920 here, and you also get 37 live table games plus 42 electronic table machines. Privé high-limit rooms cover both slots and tables.

From Monday to Thursday, the live tables deal 10AM to 4AM. Friday at 10AM they start and run straight through to Monday 4AM. No general hours for the whole floor are published by the casino, which is why the guide leaves them out. Here you'll find a 10-table poker room, open from 10AM until 4AM Monday through Thursday and around the clock Friday through Sunday. Elements has no poker room at all.

For a meal, pick from Gordon Ramsay Burger, Asylum pub, Chopsticks Noodle House or Rock House Grill. On Friday and Saturday at 9PM, Asylum puts on free live music too. There is The Show Theatre as well. The loyalty card is Encore Rewards, and the guide does not list a hotel here.
